A3P Human Breakfast "Emergency and Humanity: «TULIPE» - The Donation of Medicines at the Heart of Humanitarian Crises" at Casino Municipal
Join us for an exceptional interactive breakfast with A3P HUMAN, where we will explore how solidarity and humanitarian action give deep meaning to pharmaceutical projects. Find out more about the TULIPE association - a remarkable pharmaceutical industry emergency transfer project - which responds to global health crises with efficiency and humanity.
Our guests, Alexandre Laridan, TULIPE's Director of Operations, and Anne Carpentier, the association's Head Pharmacist, will share their experiences and challenges in the rapid distribution of medicines to crisis zones such as Ukraine, Gaza and Chad. Together, we will discuss the added value for participating companies, the rigorous selection of partner NGOs, and TULIPE's future prospects, including the innovation of new health kits and the organisation of volunteer days.
This interactive conference will be a unique opportunity to hear inspiring testimonials on the real impact of solidarity and humanitarian aid, to understand the logistical and regulatory challenges, and to discover how everyone can contribute to these philanthropic actions. What is a “Workshop” at the A3P International Congress?

  • Over the course of a day, participants exchange ideas, work and debate on a technical or regulatory theme presented by facilitators.
  • The aim of the workshops is to raise awareness and explore theoretical or practical concepts in greater depth, using case studies that participants must deal with in sub-groups, in order to propose solutions in the form of conclusions, drawn up with the help of the expert facilitators.
  • The workshop group is made up of an A3P representative (or moderator) from the A3P board, two facilitators chosen for their recognized skills, and participants (industrialists and suppliers) who register by name.
  • Registration for the A3P 2024 Congress entitles you to take part in one of the 19 workshops to be presented this year (subject to availability).
  • The list of workshops is available below. Click on the workshop title to find out more about its content.
Implementing an APS strategy: Focus on the Intervention & Operator Qualification Strategy (Annex 1)
Facilitators : Jérôme WEISZ - NOVO NORDISK & Lucile LIEGARD
Moderator : Pierre DEVAUX - THERAXEL
Implementing a PSA strategy: yes, but in concrete terms, HOW? A multitude of parameters need to be taken into account when drawing up an APS strategy, and the sum of all these parameters can make this strategy complex to manage on a routine basis. By concentrating on two parameters, namely the interventions to be simulated and personnel empowerment, the aim of this workshop is to propose a simple, pragmatic strategy, easily applicable by all industrialists and meeting all regulatory requirements. Come and play an active part in drawing up a proposed strategy, developing a risk analysis tool for interventions, and making it possible to merge process APSs and personal APSs. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
Workshop 1
Implementing an APS strategy: Focus on the Campaign & Modifications & Shut-down Strategy (Annex 1)
Facilitators : Isabelle HOENEN - LILLY & Benoit FRANQUIN - CSL BEHRING
Moderator : Julien TRIQUET - CSL BEHRING
If you struggle with the interpretation of EU GMP Annex 1 expectations for the APS strategy to apply in case of filling campaign validation/revalidation and/or in case of modifications or shutdowns, this workshop will be a unique opportunity to learn and share rationales to comply with points 9.36 xii & xiii, 9.38 and 9.49 !
During this workshop, these expectations will be deeply assessed and discussed based on practical short case studies. Recommendations and risk assessment elements will be shared for further enrichment.
Feel free to come with your examples/case studies !

How to develop and optimize cleaning in place processes (CIP) and with utensil washers while taking into consideration economic and environmental issues and guaranteeing the cleaning quality ?
Facilitators : Elodie MERET - HTL BIOTECHNOLOGIE & Alexandra GELLEREAU - COPHACLEAN
Moderator : Yves MOINARD - HUMANIM LIFE SCIENCES >

In order to guarantee the effectiveness and efficiency of a cleaning process on the installations concerned, one of the first steps is process development. This step is essential in order to optimize the critical process parameters as accurately as possible, so as to guarantee the effectiveness and quality control of the cleaning process, while taking into account economic and environmental issues.

Another important objective of this development phase is to establish the impact of variations in critical parameters on cleaning efficiency. This output data will be used to guide the design of cleaning equipment and justify the associated qualification and validation effort.

Workshop 11
From analytical risk to patient risk - Workshop full
Facilitators : Marc François-HEUDE – SANOFI & Gérald DE FONTENAY - CEBIPHAR
Moderator : Eric PETAT - ACM PHARMA
Demonstrating the quality of a pharmaceutical product involves analyzing it. With each analysis, the result is subject to an uncertainty which is not always well known or controlled. This uncertainty can lead to OOS results for a compliant batch, but also to erroneous acceptance of a non-compliant batch. Controlling patient risk therefore involves controlling the risks associated with the analytical process. The aim of this workshop is to identify these risks and provide tools for managing them, throughout the life cycle of the product and the analytical procedure.

Workshop 13
Investigation of actual or suspected microbiological non-conformities in pharmaceutical production - Workshop full
Facilitators : Thierry BONNEVAY - SANOFI & Arnaud CARLOTTI - EUROFINS
Moderator : Eric PETAT - ACM PHARMA
Microbiological quality of pharmaceutical products is an essential component in the release of medicines. Microbiological analyses performed to ensure compliance with acceptance criteria are regulated and their results have great impact on the availability of drugs for patients. Any non-conformity is a significant event with multiple consequences: batch rejection (availability of the drug, costs), probable widespread impact (production capacity, costs), delicate investigation (time, costs), and a point of interest/concern for several years. It is therefore important to be certain that the problem exists, and if so, to identify its source and cause.

Following a presentation of the general principles that guide the conduct of investigations, participants will study three cases of proven or suspected microbiological non-compliance and the means of investigation available to us to document them in a robust and scientific manner. It will be necessary to define their exact status (proven/unproven), to explain the source, the cause and their impact in order to implement the appropriate corrective and preventive actions where necessary. In particular, we will consider the case of a "non-compliant BioBurden" analysis, a case of a possibly non-compliant PSA and finally a case of a possibly non-compliant sterility test, taken from real industrial situations. The aim will be to identify appropriate strategies for these three types of case and to develop a relevant approach to investigating OOS in microbiology.
